Two NEW CD’S from Verdin and Rodney Barbour

DIGITAL SOUNDSCAPES VOLUMES THREE AND FOUR-MAY 2018

Here are pics of my two newest CD’S released about 6 weeks ago. I am very pleased with the way these have turned out! Both program-wise and sound-wise everything “comes together” to produce an intriguing listening experience for those who enjoy organ music. The instrument for both recordings is a Content 236R, a modest two-manual with four complete sets of pipe organ voices plus around 112 Extra (orchestral) Voices. The instrument is heard through six channels and is capable of being a traditional pipe organ, a theatre-gospel organ and/or a symphonic organ. I have produced and recorded twenty LP’s and CD’s on Schantz, Baldwin, Rodgers, Allen and Content organs. I am proud of the careful mix of traditional pipe and orchestral voices in my work. VOL 3 is titled “The Orchestral Organ in Worship” and demonstrates this seamless “mix”. VOL 4 is titled “The Traditional Organ in Worship” and shows that the organ (and myself!) can also play a traditional program on only traditional pipe organ sounds (not ONE orchestral sound on this recording) and the result is musical, with a lot of contrast and variety which holds the listener’s interest.
