HO HO HO — READY TO GO IN HURRICANE
I am almost “practiced-up” ready to perform CHRISTMAS JOURNEY on The HARRAH SYMPHONIC ORGAN at Forrest Burdette UMC, Putnam Avenue, Hurricane, WV on Sunday December 1, 2019 at 3pm. I’ve experienced the joy and wonderment of learning this instrument since 2006 playing thirteen concerts including hymns, patriotic, brass, pops and nine Christmas programs. Each time I become a little more comfortable and now I consider this instrument to be an “old friend”. Playing only once a year, I’m still intimidated by the size, but it always welcomes me and “lets me” feel comfortable, It always surprises me with a “new stop” I’ve never seen before or a combination which appears out of nowhere. I always plan to feature something new and different which I’ve never tried before. The organ NEVER has disappointed me!
This year on our JOURNEY, the audience and I willexperience German Baroque, English Cathedral, American Classic, French Baroque and Romantic, Italian Symphonic, Orchestral, and Wurlitzer Theatre styles, plus a lot of fun. If the organ school exists, this organ can play it! I’m so grateful to the PipeSounds Group and the congregation of Forrest Burdette UMC who allow me to have all this fun!
