THINGS AN ORGANIST DOES IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER

2-26-19  RECORD 150 HYMNS to a Sequencer so the residents of a retirement village can sing hymns with their organ playing “live” when there is no organist!  This takes a lot of energy to visualize the folks present and singing, anticipating the tempo and the breathing, trying to play without the spiritual energy of the worship of all present.  Thank goodness for ELSA’S (a great Mexican restaurant) nearby for a “LUNCHEON LIFT” after Hymn 100!

3-10-19  Play a HYMN FESTIVAL CONCERT on a Rodgers PDI Digital organ with PR300S Sound Module/Sequencer at Grace Gospel Church in Huntington, WV.   I enjoyed a great session getting used to the organ and am really looking forward to being with the congregation and friends for this program.  I appreciate Dick Lucas (a good friend and wonderful pianist/keyboardist in Huntington, WV) for making the arrangements.  After all these years, it will be my first time visiting Grace Gospel Church.

3-16-19  Featured Artist with the CINCINNATI BRASS BAND on an Allen R-380 Digital Organ at Crestview Presbyterian Church. It will be St. Patrick’s Day Eve, so we’ll be hearing Clokey’s Cantabile on St. Patrick’s Breastplate and in addition Meyerbeer’s Coronation March on the Allen R-380 Renaissance Organ.

3-21-19  Play a MIXED CONCERT on a MOELLER PIPE ORGAN for the Seniors Group at Northminster Presbyterian Church March Lunch Meeting. I’m playing at the invitation of Rich Reder-a friend and supporter since 1977.  It will be a “mixed” program on the MP MOELLER PIPE ORGAN including some light classics, Irish Sing-A-Long and tunes for opening day!

I will wait to post some April events and trust by then this dismal wet winter will be behind us!
